Bodyfit Pilates & Yoga Classes
If you are just getting started at Bodyfit Pilates & Yoga, we recommend that you try several different yoga studio classes until you find the right fit. If you aren’t sure about your experience level, starting with one of our Hatha yoga classes is a good option even if you aren’t actually a beginner.
Here are our current yoga class offerings:
Hatha yoga: This 1 hour yoga class is perfect if you are looking to focus and work on your yoga technique. This class will allow you to concentrate on each of your individual postures rather than flowing from one posture to the other. It is designed for all levels of fitness, including pregnancy and beginners that enjoy a challenge or if you like to take it at your owen pace.
Yin Yoga: This is a 1 hr class designed to wind down, stretch and strengthen. This class moves much slower and during this class you will be instructed to hold postures for longer. It offers a great workout for those who really want to improve flexibility, release tension, sleep better and decrease muscle pain. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness. It is not suitable if you are pregnant.
Restorative Yin: Restorative Yin is a 45 min class. This is the best class to calm the mind, relax the body whilst you stretch. The class is set up with candles and organic essential oils to help open the chakra's and increase your awareness, allowing you to stay focused and present. It is not suitable if you are pregnant.
Vinyasa-yoga: Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," in Sanskrit and Vinyasa yoga refers to a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like, which explains why this style of yoga is sometimes referred to as Vinyasa.Suitable for all fitness levels and for pregnancy.
Flow or just Flow: This class flows from one move to the next and can be a cardio workout at times. It is suitable if you have a regular/intermediate level yoga practise. This class is not suitable if you are pregnant.
Flow + yin yoga: This class is sure to energise your mind and body. During the first 30 min, you can move through each pose allowing you to elevate your heart rate and heat the body. The last 30min will involve unwinding with a yin yoga session. This class is not suitable if you are pregnant. The class is held in a heated room and therefore is not suitable if pregnant.
Slow flow yoga: This class will walk you through a series of postures that flows from one asana (posture) to another. You will be guided through an inhale and exhale pattern for each asana. Slow flow yoga is the perfect class for individuals looking to gain flexibility, strength and tone. It is suitable for all levels of fitness.
